Frequently asked questions
How is the ride and road noise improved?
Starting in 2025.5, the XC90 benefited from a retuned suspension that makes the already smooth ride even more comfortable. Opt for the air suspension for a supremely comfortable and controlled ride quality. It's quieter inside, too, thanks to the addition of more acoustic foam and noise reduction materials. You can't see them, but you will hear the difference.
What powertrains are available for the XC90?
The XC90 is available with two gas (mild hybrid) powertrains, each with standard AWD. For more power and electric range, opt for the plug-in hybrid which also features standard AWD.
Is there a fully electric XC90?
No, the XC90 is not available as a fully electric SUV. We offer the fully electric EX90 - it's similar in size to the XC90.
Is the seating different in the XC90?
Starting in model year 2025.5, XC90 features a new available upholstery option called Nordico, which blends recycled materials and bio-attributed pine resin sourced from sustainably managed forests. Nappa leather and wool-blend options remain available.
XC90 can be optioned with either 6 or 7 adult-sized seats. Additionally, on the 6-passenger configuration, the second-row captain's chairs feature new integrated armrests with cupholders.
