Seats in Volvo Cars Receive Exclusive Endorsement from American Chiropractic Association
MAHWAH, NJ (September 13, 2022) Volvo Car USA has become the first-ever auto manufacturer to receive an endorsement from the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) for its ergonomically-designed seats.
This exclusive endorsement was granted to Volvo Car USA across its entire lineup of vehicles in May 2022 and extends through May 2023. An ACA endorsement is given to products of the highest quality after a series of reviews, analysis, testing and evaluation by a review board of Doctors of Chiropractic, with final approval from ACA’s Board of Governors.
Seats found within Volvo Car USA’s vehicle lineup are based on pioneering collaboration with orthopedic surgeons to offer industry-leading comfort and support. Volvo Car USA is the only automaker to receive this accolade to date.

Integrated into every seat are Volvo safety innovations including Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS), Side Impact Protection System (SIPS), and Run Off-Road Mitigation that can help reduce risk of injury in the event of a crash. Even Volvo Cars’ distinct head restraints are specially designed to provide increased whiplash protection.

Volvo Cars has also announced that its fully electric vehicles will be completely leather free, instead using high-quality and sustainable alternatives. In addition to the currently available tailored wool blend, future Volvo seats will use Nordico, a new material consisting of textiles from recycled PET bottles, bio-attributed material from sustainable forests in Sweden and Finland, and corks recycled from the wine industry.
