No confirmation email after creating a Volvo ID

If you have not received a confirmation email:

  1. Check that the email address you entered is correct.
  2. Check your spam or junk folder.
  3. Make sure emails from noreply@volvocars.com are not blocked.
  4. Try creating the account again.

Unable to sign in after changing your email address

Make sure that you have completed the account confirmation process for your new email address. If you did not receive a confirmation email, your previous email address may still be active. Sign in with your current email address and try changing it again.

Unable to sign in after changing your password

If you cannot sign in after changing your password, try signing in with your previous password. If you still can't sign in, reset your password again.

Resetting your password

If you have forgotten your password and still have access to the email address associated with your Volvo ID, you can reset your password.

  1. Open the Volvo Cars app and press Forgot password, or go to volvoid.eu.volvocars.com/Account/.
  2. Press Sign in.
  3. Press Trouble signing in?.
  4. Press Reset password and follow the instructions on the screen.

Forgot your Volvo ID email address

If you're signed in to the Volvo Cars app but are unsure which email address is registered to your Volvo ID:

  1. Go to the profile tab in the bottom bar.
  2. Press Manage account to see the email address.

If you're not signed in to the Volvo Cars app and do not know which email address is associated with your Volvo ID, create a new Volvo ID using an email address you can access. If you try to create a Volvo ID using an email address that is already registered, you will be notified and can reset the password for that account instead.

You may need to reconnect the Volvo Cars app to the vehicle after creating a new Volvo ID. See the related articles on creating a Volvo ID and connecting the Volvo Cars app to your vehicle for more information.

Recovering your Volvo ID when you've lost access to your email

If you no longer have access to the email address associated with your Volvo ID, you may be able to recover your account. To recover your account, you must:

  • have previously added a phone number as a secondary contact method to your account.
  • have access to the secondary contact method.
  • know the main email address associated with your Volvo ID.

If you do not meet these requirements, create a new Volvo ID. See the related article about how to create a Volvo ID.

Recover your account

  1. Open the Volvo Cars app and press Forgot password, or go to volvoid.eu.volvocars.com/Account/.
  2. Press Sign in.
  3. Press Trouble signing in?.
  4. Press Recover Volvo ID.
  5. Select either Email address or Phone number and enter the contact details associated with your Volvo ID.
  6. Press Send verification code.
A verification code is sent to your secondary contact method to confirm your identity.

Phone number no longer supported as a Volvo ID username

Phone numbers can no longer be used to sign in to a Volvo ID account. If your Volvo ID uses a phone number as the username, create a new Volvo ID using an email address. You may need to reconnect the Volvo Cars app to the vehicle after creating a new Volvo ID.

Volvo ID temporarily locked

After five unsuccessful sign-in attempts to your account, your Volvo ID is locked for 15 minutes. You can either unlock your account by resetting your password or try again after 15 minutes.

Moving to another country

Your Volvo ID is linked to the country you selected during registration and cannot be transferred to another country. If you move to another country, delete your existing Volvo ID and create a new one. You can reuse the same email address. Make sure to select the correct country during registration.

Verification code not received

If you do not receive a verification code when signing in or resetting your password:

  • Check your spam or junk folder and add noreply@volvocars.com to your safe senders list.
  • Make sure the email address you entered is correct.
  • If you are using a work email address, contact your IT department to ensure emails from Volvo Cars are not being blocked.

If you still do not receive a verification code, contact Volvo support.
