The Volvo Cars app is your gateway to fuss-free electric driving. With a few quick taps you can check your current charging status, set your home charging schedule, find charging stations and even make payments on the go.

Charging at home may cost less than using public stations, especially during off-peak hours. Simply schedule charging for late at night or early morning which, depending on your energy plan, may help save money - without the extra stops.

Find charging stations easily

Find charging stations before departure in the Volvo Cars app, or locate them on the road through the built-in Google Maps in your car’s center display. You can filter by charging speed, charging networks, plug type, and availability. By entering your final destination, Google Maps in your vehicle will incorporate charging stops into your route when and where you need them. Additionally, it will suggest the amount of time you should spend charging so you can get back on the road faster. And when your battery drops to 20%, Google Maps in your car will suggest nearby chargers and guide you there – showing your estimated charge level on arrival. Manage and monitor charging remotely

The Volvo Cars app gives you a complete overview of all charging features. With the app, you can easily monitor the real-time charging status (ongoing, completed or fault) and check the available range. You can also set your preferred charging schedule.

Charging compatibility for your Volvo

Public chargers are categorized as DC fast chargers or AC destination chargers. DC fast chargers offer the fastest way to charge your car, while AC destination chargers typically top up your electric car in a few hours. Fully electric Volvo cars and plug-in hybrids are compatible with most AC destination chargers. Additionally, our fully electric vehicles now support the North American Charging Standard (NACS), enabling access to Tesla’s Supercharger network for an additional 25,000+ and growing, public fast charging stations nationwide. In your fully electric Volvo, both Google Maps on the in-car navigation and the Volvo Cars app can show which charge points have the right plug for your car.
