Volvo one of a million survivor stories.
Linda & Molly Henriksson - Made it out alive from a high-speed collision thanks to the safety belt.
Linda: "We slide for about 70 meters. Before the car even stops, I hear a man's voice talking to us, saying: "SOS, what is your emergency?"
He explains that help is on the way, and that he knows our position. Had I been unconscious, Molly would have absolutely needed someone to talk to. Somebody who could calm her down, and explained that things will be okay.
Remember what you told me when we left?"
Molly: "I'm so happy I was with you, so I didn't have to be alone."
Linda: "And then, it was just ... There was a fantastic family in the car behind us, who came out to help us, and took care of Molly. It's such a tremendous force. Many people asked me if it hurt. But you don't feel anything when it happens so fast.
If we hadn't worn our seat belts, it hadn't ended like this."
Since the safety belt was introduce in 1959, it has saved more than a million lives. As the next step, we will install in-car cameras to prevent intoxicated and distracted driving. So we can save a million more.
