For their future
We need to change how we drive today, so our children will have a brighter tomorrow. That’s why we’ve electrified our SUVs. Choose Pure drive mode to leave behind tailpipe emissions – and a better future for your family.
Drive with less impact
Our ambition won’t wait. Volvo Recharge is our new line of advanced plug-in hybrid and pure electric cars. Today, we offer plug-in hybrid options on all our models and that’s just the start. Over the next five years, we will launch five new fully electric cars. Our ambition: by 2025, half of the cars we sell will be electric.

Electrification is not enough
It’s a start. But it’s not the entire solution. To protect the safety of our planet, we must do more than merely electrify our cars. Our vision is to be climate neutral across our full value chain by 2040 – a decade ahead of the Paris Agreement goal. By 2025, we are aiming to reduce our carbon footprint per vehicle by 40%. In addition to tailpipe emissions, this includes emissions from manufacturing, logistics and business travel, as well as from within our own supply chain. Recharging the world begins with recharging every step of our journey.
Ethical battery sourcing
We are committed to ethical and responsible sourcing of our batteries. As part of that commitment, we will be the first car maker to use blockchain technology to monitor and trace the cobalt within our batteries through the entire supply chain. This technology significantly boosts transparency and traceability, helping us ensure that the cobalt used in our electrified cars is sourced responsibly.
