VOLVO REVEALS PRICES FOR THE NEW ENTRY LEVEL 2-LITRE ENGINES IN THE VOLVO V70 AND S80

Volvo Car UK can now reveal prices for the new entry level 2-litre petrol and diesel engines in the all-new Volvo V70 premium estate and S80 executive saloon. Prices for the petrol derivative will start from £24,995 in the Volvo V70 and £23,495 in the S80, while the diesel powerplant is priced at £25,495 and £23,995 in the Volvo V70 and S80 respectively.

Volvo has developed both engines with low emissions and impressive fuel economy in mind to meet the needs of the modern day motorist. The 2-litre common rail diesel generates 136PS and 320Nm of torque and is equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter as standard. CO₂ figures stand at 157g/km on the Volvo V70 and 151g/km on the S80. The all-new Volvo V70 returns an impressive 47.9mpg and the S80 49.6pmg on the combined cycle.

The 2-litre petrol engine generates 145PS and 190NM of torque and returns 32.8mpg in the all-new Volvo V70 and 34.0mpg in the Volvo S80 on the combined cycle. CO₂ emissions are 199g/km and 206g/km for the respective S80 and V70.

Available to order now ready for January delivery, both four cylinder engines have been introduced to widen the appeal of both cars and are expected to account for up to 60% of all Volvo V70 and S80 UK sales. Company motorists are a big target market as the four cylinder engines will enable drivers to get into a much larger more spacious car without the burden of inflated Benefit in Kind tax bills or high fuel costs.¹

"We have been working with Volvo in Sweden to develop 2-litre engines for the V70 and S80 as they are such an important benchmark for company car choice lists in the UK.

"We know from industry data that 2-litre diesel engines in particular account for around 60-80% of some rival manufacturer's executive car sales, so we are excited about the new sales opportunities these engines will provide," explained Nick Connor, Volvo Car UK Sales Director.
