Volvo's U.S. Customer Service Leadership to Change

ROCKLEIGH, N.J. (Jan. 24, 2012) - Chris Dauerer, vice president, customer service, at Volvo Cars of North America (VCNA) since 2003, has accepted a similar position at Volvo Cars of China, and is expected to assume his new duties within 60 days.

"This is a key international assignment, and Chris has accepted the challenge with the same enthusiasm with which he has performed his job in the United States," said Doug Speck, senior vice president of marketing, sales and service for Volvo Car Corp.  "Having worked with Chris, I know first-hand of his knowledge and dedication."

Replacing Dauerer at VCNA will be Rick Bryant, currently regional vice president of the Northeast region.  Replacing Bryant as regional vice president for the Northeast region will be Scott Doering, currently manager of commercial sales.

"I'm confident Rick and Scott will excel in their new duties," said John Maloney, VCNA's president and CEO.  "Both are very talented and earned this opportunity to help lead Volvo's continuing success in the U.S. market."

Dauerer, 49, has been in the auto industry since 1982.  He joined VCNA in 1989 and has held several positions including emissions engineer, product evaluation engineer, team leader, manager of port quality Assurance, manager of technical service and manager of the technical & regulatory department.  A native of Kingston, N.Y., Dauerer studied at Marist College before entering the auto industry.

Bryant, 57, has been a VCNA regional vice president since 2008.  Having joined the company in 1993, he held several positions in the field and in the commercial sales department.  Before joining Volvo, Bryant spent 15 years retailing motorcycles and cars for several manufacturers.  A Rhode Island native, Bryant attended the University of Bridgeport, receiving a degree in industrial design.

Doering, 44, joined VCNA in 1993 and spent 14 years in various field positions.  In 2007, he was named manager, business and brand strategy, and was responsible for aligning brand, product, sales and retailer network functions.  In 2008, he was promoted to manager, commercial sales.  A native of Baraboo, Wis., Doering earned a bachelor of science degree in geography from University of Wisconsin - Whitewater.
