Pilot Assist supports the driver with steering, distance, and speed control in situations ranging from slow-moving traffic jams to free-flowing long-distance driving on motorways. When Pilot Assist is activated, acceleration, braking, and steering assistance help the driver follow the traffic flow within the current lane. Includes adaptive cruise control and steering support.
Please remember:
- The driver is always responsible for safe driving the vehicle at all times: hands on the wheel, eyes on the road, mind on driving. Driver support functions are not a substitute for the driver’s attention and judgment.
- The driver can override the function at any time by using the brake pedal, accelerator pedal, or steering wheel. Using the turn indicator will temporarily abort the steering support if the driver wants to change lanes.
- Pilot Assist alarms and automatically switches off if the driver does not keep active control of the vehicle.
Note 1: Pilot Assist can be activated at speeds between ~0 to ~80 mph (~0 to ~130 km/h). Lane markings are needed to have functionality.
Note 2: Minimum required vehicle software version 3.1.9.
