Mobility by Volvo

Mobility by Volvo helps customers and their families with physical disabilities equip eligible vehicles with adaptive driving or transport equipment.

Mobility by Volvo is a program provided by Volvo to help our customers, and their family members, that have physical disabilities modify their qualifying Volvo with adaptive equipment necessary to drive or be transported.  While it is recommended that you or your family member visit an assessment center, for an evaluation of your needs, it is not a requirement for eligibility. If you already have equipment you’re going to transfer or you know what equipment you need it is not necessary for you to have the evaluation performed.

Eligibility

New Volvo vehicles; current year and newer, properly retired courtesy cars and retired demonstrators; less than 6 months old, that are purchased or leased from an authorized Volvo dealer in the United States, are eligible. Used cars, Certified Pre Owned, and cars sold outside of the U.S. or through Overseas Delivery are not eligible.

Cars leased through Volvo Car Financial Services require the lessee to sign a letter prior to the adaptive equipment installation.  Please visit their website or call 1-855-537-3334 for further information.

Qualifying equipment

Any device that makes it easier for persons with physical disabilities or impairments to drive or be transported in a vehicle. As long as you have a paid receipt, newly-purchased used equipment acquired for your installation will also qualify for assistance. Equipment that is not clearly related to a specific medical need; such as alert hearing devices, swivel seats and pedal extensions; will require original medical documentation clearly detailing the physical disability or permanent impairment for which the equipment is intended. This documentation must be prepared by a licensed, certified medical or medical-related professional.

Note: Options available for factory or retailer installation, such as running boards and power-assisted seats, are not eligible.
