Olle Axelson leaves Volvo Car Corporation
Volvo Car Corporation SVP Public Affairs Olle Axelson is leaving the company after 12 years as a member of the Executive Management Team. Axelson was recruited to Volvo Car Corporation during summer 2000 and he has worked as a Senior Vice President for Public Affairs during a partly very turbulent and eventful period for the company.
"It has been a very exciting time of my career with many successful milestones for Volvo Car Corporation - under the ownership of Ford Motor Company, the very tough years of the financial crisis in 2008-2009 and the deal between Ford and Zhejiang Geely Holding during 2010," says Olle Axelson.
Axelson has been operative under the executive management of four Volvo Car Corporation President & CEOs: Hans-Olov Olsson, Fredrik Arp, Stephen Odell and Stefan Jacoby.
Volvo Car Corporation, under the management of Stefan Jacoby, has developed into a stand alone company with a new corporate and brand strategy, a new and more powerful corporate culture and an aggressive venture for new products.
"I have actively worked to manage the very difficult years of crisis and participated in creating the new Volvo Car Corporation under the new majority owner Zhejiang Geely Holding," says Olle Axelson. He adds: "It feels like a natural step to hand over after 12 years - which is actually the longest period for anyone in the Volvo Car Corporation Executive Management Team. I am moving on, and will be able to be more specific about this new step in my career later this year," says Axelson.

A successor to Olle Axelson will be subject to announcement at a later date.
