Volvo Cars Online Reservation Terms & Conditions

This document sets out the terms and conditions (“Terms”) under which you are able (subject to availability) to make a reservation for a new Volvo car (“Reservation”).

Please note that these Terms only apply to the Reservation and do not apply to the purchase of a new Volvo car from the retailer you choose (“Retailer”). The terms on which you purchase a Volvo car from a Retailer will be set out in separate terms and conditions to be entered into between you and the Retailer at a later date.

Please read these Terms carefully and make sure that you understand them. By ticking the box below confirming your acceptance of these Terms you agree to be bound by them. If you do not accept these Terms, you will not be able to make the Reservation. You should print a copy of these Terms or save them to your computer for future reference.

1. Information about us

We are Volvo Car Corporation, a Swedish corporation with the registered place of business at Assar Gabrielssons väg, SE-405 31, Gothenburg, Sweden.

2. Eligibility and start date

  1. Your rights attaching to the Reservation are personal to you and may not be transferred to anyone else.
  2. You confirm that you are not a person, or acting on behalf of a person, designated on any sanctions list imposed by the UN, EU, United Kingdom or US, and that you will not sell, provide or transfer the Volvo car to any such sanctioned person, or to any person located in (a) a country or territory which is, or whose government is, the subject of comprehensive sanctions, as may be in place or imposed from time to time, including (but not limited to) Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, the Crimea region of Ukraine, the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic region of Ukraine, the so-called Kherson People’s Republic region of Ukraine, the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic region of Ukraine and the so-called Zaporizhzhia People’s Republic region of Ukraine, (b) Russia or (c) Belarus. If at any time this turns out not to be true, according to law we may not be able to repay any payments that you may have made to us.
  3. You will be able to reserve a new Volvo car online until we remove this option from our website.

3. How to make the reservation

  1. You can make a Reservation by:
    • completing the online process; and
    • paying a refundable deposit of CZK 15.000 at the time of the Reservation (“Deposit”).
  2. Our online process will guide you through the steps you need to take. That process allows you to check and amend any errors before making the Reservation. Please take the time to read and check your Reservation at each page of the process.
  3. After you make your Reservation, we will send you an email acknowledging that we have received your Reservation and confirming that it has been accepted (“Reservation Confirmation”). Each Reservation Confirmation will have its own, unique reservation number.
  4. If you do not receive the Reservation Confirmation within 24 hours of completing the online process, please contact our Customer Care Center, see contact details in section 7.

4. The deposit

  1. The Deposit is payable online by credit or debit card. We use STRIPE for internet payment services. You agree to STRIPE handling the payment transaction, your card details and any other information necessary for such payment transaction to be executed by STRIPE (including but not limited to fraud prevention). All communication between our website and your bank is handled by STRIPE and encrypted via Secure Sockets Layer (“SSL”).
  2. You are responsible for verifying that the payment transaction has been successfully completed. The Reservation will only be processed after the payment transaction for the Deposit is completed.
  3. The Deposit is fully refundable, please see section 6.

5. Completing the purchase of your new Volvo car

  1. When further pricing and order options become available for this Volvo car you will receive an e-mail with further instructions on how to purchase the new Volvo car. Please note that any price shown on our website for a new Volvo car is a manufacturer’s suggested retail price.
  2. To complete the purchase of your new Volvo car you will need to enter into a contract for sale with the Retailer. The contract for sale will record all the terms of the sale and purchase including final price, payment terms, delivery and warranty between you and the Retailer.

6. Refund of deposit

The Deposit will be refunded to you (through the same means as you paid the Deposit) either

  • automatically after you have entered into a contract of sale with the Retailer for your new car; or
  • at your own request, in which case you must contact the Customer Care Centre and request by email or other written means that you cancel the Reservation made; or
  • automatically if you do not take the opportunity to configure your new car or take any other action to do so within two weeks of gaining access to the pre-configuration.

Please note that it will take a couple of business days before you see the refund on your bank account.

7. Contact details to Customer Care Center

If you wish to contact us to cancel your Reservation or for any other reason, you can do so by contacting our Customer Care Center at 800 186 586 or via e-mail czinfo@volvocars.com.

8. Our right to vary these terms

  1. We may revise these Terms as they apply to the Reservation from time to time to reflect changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements.
  2. If we have to revise these Terms as they apply to your Reservation, we will contact you to give you reasonable advance notice of the changes.

9. Events outside out control

  1. We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under these Terms that is caused by an Event Outside Our Control. An “Event Outside Our Control” is any act or event beyond our reasonable control.
  2. If an Event Outside Our Control takes place that affects the performance of our obligations under these Terms:
    • we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to notify you; and
    • our obligations will be suspended and the time for performance of our obligations will be extended for the duration of the Event Outside Our Control.
  3. You may cancel the Reservation if it is affected by an Event Outside Our Control. To cancel please contact Customer Care Center.

10. How we use your data

We are responsible for the personal data processed in connection with the Reservation. All processing will take place in accordance with applicable legislation and the privacy notice presented to you when making the Reservation.

11. Communication

If we have to contact you or give you notice in writing, we will do so by e-mail to the address you provide to us during the Reservation process.

12. Other important terms

  1. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organization, but this will not affect your rights or our obligations under these Terms. We will always notify you in writing.
  2. Each of the paragraphs of these Terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.
  3. If we fail to insist that you perform any of your obligations under these Terms, or if we do not enforce our rights against you, or if we delay in doing so, that will not mean that we have waived our rights against you and will not mean that you do not have to comply with those obligations. If we do waive a default by you, we will only do so in writing, and that will not mean that we will automatically waive any later default by you.

13. Applicable law and jurisdiction

Unless otherwise required by mandatory law, these Terms and the agreement constituted by your acceptance here of, are subject to the laws of the Czech Republic. Any claims arising from or related to these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the general courts of the Czech Republic.
